The speakers for our May breakfast meeting are Monique Brigham and Amber Lang of Skagit Relay for Life. A Skagit Valley native, Monique has been the Volunteer Event Lead for the Relay for Life of Skagit for three years. “I am involved because I believe we are making a difference, helping to create more birthdays, as well as supporting cancer patients and their families going through their cancer journeys. I got involved because our event was getting ready to be sun-setted because they no longer had the leadership to make it feasible to keep going. We now have a strong team of great people making fun and relevant things happen in Skagit County.”
Team Ambassador and Survivor Amber Lang is “…a 35 year cancer survivor, having been diagnosed at six months with a rare form of skin cancer. I have had more than 60 surgeries on my face! Relay for Life is important to me because it encompasses all forms of cancer, and works to engage communities in cancer research and programs that support and serve cancer survivors.”
Please join us on May 7th to hear more about Skagit Relay for Life and the people who make it possible.
